Disease Burden in Rural Michigan

Disability-adjusted life year (DALY) burden analysis for rural Michigan counties — built for county health planning, CHNA reports, and grant applications (SAMHSA, HRSA, MDHHS). Open CDC and US Census data sources; disability weights adapted from IHME GBD 2021 and WHO reference standards.

About this project

This series quantifies disease burden for rural Michigan counties using disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), combining premature mortality and years lived with disability into a single actionable measure. Sources: CDC PLACES 2023, CDC WONDER 2020–22 mortality files, US Census ACS estimates, and IHME GBD 2021 disability weights. Intended for county health needs assessments, grant applications, and public health planning — not formal GBD estimates or peer-reviewed epidemiological studies.

154 New AI Clinical Trials
Since 1 May 2026, 154 AI-related clinical trials have been registered on ClinicalTrials.gov. Read as a set, they mark a shift in clinical AI — away from diagnostic-accuracy demonstrations and toward the questions public health turns on: survival, screening yield, antimicrobial stewardship, workflow integration, and equity.
